STE GENEVIEVE PROJECT PIONEER

HONORING FOUNDING FAMILIES SINCE 1989

About Us
Ste Genevieve Project Pioneer was started in 1989 by Lucille Basler in conjunction with the Ste Genevieve Chamber of Commerce.  In 2001 we became a non-profit organization. In our twenty year history we have honored forty families of French, German and African-American heritage.

Monies raised from the sale of the family tree books go to support genealogy programs in the local schools and the local library.

Members of the organization are individuals that enjoy history and genealogy.  Anyone interested in joining the group may do by coming to a meeting.  There are no dues charged for being a member.

How do we honor the families?
  • Gather information from the families and create a family tree book which we sell at the Jour de Fete.
  • Present the honored families at the opening ceremonies and host a reception at the Jour de Fete.
  • Give attendances prizes, for oldest man and women and most miles traveled.
